The forced air cooled 3CX1500A7 electronic tube works at a frequency of 250MHz and the anode dissipation is 1500W. In audio or radio frequency applications including VHF, the tube can be used as a cathode-driven Class AB2 or B amplifier or a cathode-driven plate modulated Class C amplifier. When used as a linear amplifier, it can obtain high power gain and low intermodulation distortion. Tubes of this power capacity have low grid capture and high amplification factors, so the drive required is extremely small.
